Abnormal tension within the myofascial matrix can be caused by trauma, repetitive motion therefore muscle imbalances, lack of oxygen and bloodflow or mechanical overloading of the tissue. This results in impaired movement of soft tissues leading to postural changes, faulty motor patterns, joint dysfunction and eventually to pain and inflammation. Clients often describe stiffness, reduced ease of movement, or recurring physical discomfort in areas that feel overloaded or tight.
During a treatment these imbalances are explored through posture observation, movement-based testing, and hands-on methods informed by experience in personal training, movement analysis, and body-oriented coaching. Thereupon restricted components of the myofascial matrix are worked on and released where appropriate. It may cause bruising as a result of the breakdown of dysfunctional tissue, which is nothing to worry about. It’s a technique that has been around for hundreds of years in Chinese Medicine as meridian massage.
What clients have experienced through fascia mobilization:
- Improved blood flow and flow of energy (QI) in the meridians
- Neurological readaptation (motor pattern reprogramming)
- Increased mobility/range of motion and muscle function
- Release of toxins and waste products
- Pain reduction or complete elimination
- Body RESET
It is very important to note that the treatments must be followed by precisely chosen exercises focused on the individual imbalances of the patient. The body reset is given after the treatment, the exercises are the long term solution.
